Soviet President Gorbachev and U.S. President Bush held a news conference in the U.S. Embassy in London after their meeting in association with the Economic Summit of the Industrialized Nations. President Gorbachev announced agreement had been reached on the START arms reduction treaty, and announced a superpower summit would be held in Moscow at the end of July. President Bush accepted the invitation, and said the START treaty was in the best interests of the American people. close
