John K. Wilson, author of Barack Obama: This Improbable Quest, and Jonathan Karp, editor of all of Senator John McCain’s books, talked about the books written by the presidential candidates. First John Wilson talked about Barack Obama’s books Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance (2004) and The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream (2006). John K. Wilson is the author of Barack Obama: This Improbable Quest (Paradigm Publishers; October 30, 2007) and blogs at obamapolitics.com. A former student of Barack Obama’s at the University of Chicago, Mr. Wilson has followed Obama’s political career since he was an Illinois state senator. Mr. Wilson’s other books include Patriotic Correctness: Academic Freedom and Its Enemies; The Myth of Political Correctness: The Conservative Attack on Higher Education; and Newt Gingrich: Capitol Crimes and Misdemeanors.

Jonathan Karp is currently the publisher and editor-in-chief of Twelve. He was formerly editor-in-chief of Random House Publishing, where he acquired and edited numerous books, including Thank You for Smoking by Christopher Buckley and Seabiscut by Laura Hillenbrand.
