The Japanese ambassador to the U.S.spoke about his country’s rebuilding efforts one year after a deadly quake triggered a tsunami and set off a nuclear crisis. Ambassador Fujisaki said Japan is making progress but emphasized that the road to recovery will be long. He further stated that serious concerns over the damaged Fukushima plant and the future of nuclear power in Japan remains, adding that more than 50 nuclear power plants are inoperable, with the country relying mostly on thermal energy.
