J. Brian Smith talked about his book John J. Rhodes: Man Of The House, published by Primer. John Rhodes served as the Republican representative for Arizona’s 1st Congressional District from 1953 - 1983 and as House Minority Leader from 1973 to 1981. Mr. Smith served as his press secretary, and gives an insider’s view of the workings of the House of Representatives.

Mr. Smith spoke about his book during a book party in the Eisenhower Room of the Capitol Hill Club in Washington, D.C. Also speaking were Sen. John McCain, Mr. Ornstein, Rep. J.D. Hayworth, and Speaker of the House Rep. Dennis Hastert, while Mr. Aiken introduced each speaker. Other friends and the son and widow of former Representative John J. Rhodes were also in attendance.
