President Bush marked the 60th anniversary of the end of World War II at a ceremony at Naval Base Coronado and honored veterans who served in World War II. He also drew parallels between World War II and current efforts to combat global terrorism and establish a working democracy in Iraq. 

At the beginning of his remarks he also commented on relief efforts along the Gulf Coast following Hurricane Katrina.
