The twelfth in a series on presidential libraries focused on Bill Clinton’s life and career using rarely seen film and sound recordings, as well as letters, documents and artifacts collected from the stacks and vaults of the William J. Clinton Presidential Library in Little Rock, Arkansas. Library officials displayed the library collection and responded to telephone calls and electronic mail. Series historian and consultant Richard Norton Smith participated from the studio in Washington, D.C.
Highlighted film, sound, documents, and artifacts featured during the show included an exclusive interview and walking tour of the Clinton Library with former President Bill Clinton on November 26, 2007; the on-air release of domestic policy documents and a look at artifacts not on public display; and footage shot by the White House Television Office, which recorded many of the activities of the Clinton presidency.
C-SPAN’s Presidential Libraries: History Uncovered was a 12-week series airing live on location from the 12 presidential libraries spanning Herbert Hoover to Bill Clinton.
