Democratic women’s leaders gathered to discuss issues that face women and the Democratic Party at the onset of the 21st century. Female members of Congress outlined the party’s agenda regarding women’s issues. Mrs. Clinton talked about the challenges of the new century, saying women’s issues are now the concern of women and men and that so-called women’s issues are no longer marginal issues. Following her address, Mrs. Clinton answered questions from the audience. Speakers also included Representative Marty Meehan, D- MA, Representative Nancy Pelosi, D-CA, Representative Sheila Jackson Lee, D-TX, Representative Karen Thurman, D-FL, Representative Rosa DeLauro, D-CT, Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton, D-DC.
