Richard Ben Cramer, author of ‘What it Takes: The Way to the White House’ and Taylor Branch, author of ‘Parting the Waters: America in the King Years, 1954-63’ discussed the role of the character issue in the 1996 presidential campaign. They discussed what they have discovered about the characters of President Clinton and Bob Dole through their research for an article in the September issue of Esquire Magazine.
