They spoke about the positions of both the Israelis and the Palestinians, the potential for a sustained ceasefire, and the role of the U.S. in the peace process. Brookings Institution fellow Khaled Elgindy argued that Palestinians do not see Hamas as an extremist group but as a political ideology.
