Alf McCreary, Irish correspondent for the Christian Science Monitor, discussed the ongoing talks between representatives the Republic of Ireland and Great Britain, including Northern Ireland. The goal of the talks was to determine how Northern Ireland will be governed in the future. Mr. McCreary said Northern Ireland is made up of approximately one million Protestants, who prefer remaining under the government of Great Britain, and 500,000 Catholics, who desire unification with the Republic of Ireland. close
