A hearing was held on oversight of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. FBI Director Robert Mueller testified on improvement efforts in intelligence, technology, employee retention and recruitment, and new investigation rules, called the Attorney General guidelines. Questioning by committee members focused on the FBI anthrax investigation and refusal by the Justice Department to provide copies of the new guidelines to members of Congress.
