The Senate Governmental Affairs Committee members continued their investigation into campaign fund-raising abuses in the last campaign. They heard testimony from Mark Thomann, a former Democratic National Committee Midwest Finance Director, and Richard Sullivan, a former Democratic National Committee Finance Director, who testified before the committee in July, concerning Democratic National Committee financing practices. They testified particularly about alleged Democratic efforts to persuade Judith Vasquez, who wanted to donated $100,000 to the Democrats, to donate to the Teamsters presidential candidates Ron Carey, in exchange for Teamsters donations to the Democratic National Committee. close
