Committee members heard testimony from three witnesses concerning the fund-raising activities of Charlie Trie. Mr. Campane was a summary witness who has investigated Mr. Trie’s fund-raising activities for the committee and Ms. Chu and Ms. Wang were two associates of his who were both testifying under immunity from prosecution granted by the committee. Mr. Campane outlined Mr. Trie’s relations with the Democratic National Committee and a Macau businessman, Mr. Wu, among others. Ms. Chu and Ms. Wang testified further about Mr. Trie’s ties with this businessman. Translation of their testimony from Chinese to English was by an interpreter from the State Department. close
