The Senate Select Committee on Intelligence continued joint hearings with the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence to examine activities of the U.S. Intelligence Community in connection with the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States. The committee receivied testimony from Lee H. Hamilton, Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, Eleanor Hill, staff director for the Joint Inquiry Staff at William Webster and former Director Federal Bureau of Investigation. They also heard from William E. Odom, National Security Studies at Hudson Institute, and Frederick P. Hitz,of Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School. Witnesses testified about intelligence gathering and sharing prior to September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the U.S. They also talked about proposals to improve intelligence information and future investigations into terrorist threats.
