Jason Meszaros talked about his memoir Interrogation of Morals (Lulu.com; April 10, 2009) at a “Remembering 9/11” event held in the East Room of the Richard Nixon Library and Birthplace to commemorate the eighth anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks. Orange County Sheriff Sandra Hutchens explained that jurisdictional boundaries between law enforcement agencies have been reduced significantly since the attacks, increasing inter-agency cooperation. Bruce Herschensohn, a former staff assistant to President Nixon, discussed subjects ranging from the bravery of New York City police and firefighters to criticism of tactics used by the CIA. Citing the first World Trade Center attack and the subsequent September 11 attacks as an example, he also warned against the dangers of forgetting.
