Arkansas Tech University history professor Carey Roberts delivered a paper written by the University of South Carolina’s historian emeritus, Clyde Wilson. In the paper, Mr. Wilson argues that politicians and statesmen continually misinterpret Thomas Jefferson for their own political purposes. Mr. Wilson addresses these various interpretations, and presents his own take on what Jefferson actually thought and intended. close
