Mr. Cole talked on the subject “The Internet: An Essential Part of Everyday Life: Highlights of Major Findings from Year Five of the Digital Future Project’s Study on the Impact of the Internet on American Life.” In his remarks he examined the cultural, social and economic impact of the Internet on American life, how changing media had transformed various portions of society, as well as issues of Internet access. He also talked about forthcoming reports on the impact of Internet technology on both the U.S. and its relationship to a global society. Following his remarks he answered questions from the audience.
