President Obama visited the Department of the Interior on the occasion of the 160th anniversary of the creation of the department in 1849. At the event, President Obama spoke about the economic benefits of environmental preservation and commented on a memorandum he had issued to reverse Bush administration procedures regarding endangered species designations.
