The National Council on Educational Standards and Testing discussed several issues involved with education during their interim council meeting in the Hyatt Regency hotel in Washington, DC. Participants in the discussion included administration officials, educators, governors, and academic officials interested in reform of the American educational system. Issues involved in the discussion included national testing for educational standards, which would allow comparisons of educational attainment between students at the same grade level across the country, and the standards for student performance.
