Mr. Smolla talked about his book Deliberate Intent: A Lawyer Tells the True Story of Murder by the Book, published by Crown Publishing. The book examines a murder that occurred based upon instructions in the book Hit Man. After the murderer was convicted the victims' families sued Paladin Press who published the book. Mr. Smolla represented the victims' families in the lawsuit. Following his remarks, he took questions from the audience.
