Eric Muller talked about his book American Inquisition: The Hunt for Japanese American Disloyalty in World War II, published by University of North Carolina Press.

In his book he examined the U.S. government’s decision to force 70,000 American citizens of Japanese ancestry into internment camps during World War II. He told the story of the government bureaucracy that existed between 1943 and 1945, and adjudicated which Americans of Japanese ancestry were “loyal” and which were "disloyal. Mr. Muller chronicled the government’s process of determining the loyalty of these citizens and the legal challenge it faced at the end of the war. Mr. Muller responded to questions from the audience. close
