Kimberly Kenney discussed the 1918 influenza pandemic. Topics included its origins, spread, what Canton and Stark County, Ohio, did to cope with the disease, how modern science uncovered some of its secrets more than 80 years later, and the possibility of re-occurrence. She showed slides during her presentation and afterward responded to questions from members of the audience.

“Influenza: Understanding the Worst Pandemic in Human History” was a “Soup at Six” program at the William McKinley Presidential Library and Museum in Canton, Ohio. It was held in conjunction with the museum’s “Stark County Story” exhibit. close
