The National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials convened a panel entitled “Latino Politics in America,” as part of their 14th annual meeting held in Austin, TX. Participants discussed how several voter issues, including voter registration, census counting and redistricting, increased the political power of the Latino community. They also discussed how problems in these areas weakened Latino voting power. Following their opening remarks, the panelists took questions from the audience. close
