Tom Bethell talked about his book The Politically Incorrect Guide to Science, published by Regnery Publishing. In the book he argued that many of the larger issues addressed by the scientific community are driven as much by politics as by any scientific method developed to guide it. Mr. Bethell challenged the conventional wisdom on such issues as overpopulation, nuclear energy, global warming, avian flu, and AIDS in Africa. He also provided a critical assessment of the Human Genome Project and weighed in on the evolution v. intelligent design debate. Following his presentation, Mr. Bethell responded to questions and comments from members of the audience. Ms. Dunlop moderated the program. close
