Experts on Iraq talked about the ongoing militant violence in that country. They discussed Secretary of State John Kerry’s visit to the region; the role of the U.S. and other regional countries, such as Iran; and the economic situation in Iraq. Retired Colonel Peter Mansoor, who served as the executive officer under General David Petraeus, said Iraq would not be a viable state under the Maliki government.
