John O’Connor is the attorney whose article, “I’m the Guy They Called Deep Throat,” in Vanity Fair revealed former FBI deputy director Mark Felt to be Watergate’s “deep throat.” Mr. O’Connor talked about his involvement with Mr. Felt and provided details of the investigation of the Watergate case. He described Mr. Felt’s decision to talk to the Washington Post reporters rather than to the grand jury, and the reasons for believing the Nixon administration would try to cover up the crime. After his presentation, Mr. O’Connor answered audience members' questions. close
