President Obama signed the Improper Payments Elimination and Recovery Act. The bill is aimed at limiting improper payments from the government to individuals, organizations, and contractors. The White House said that $110 billion dollars in 2009 was paid to the wrong person, in the wrong amount, or for the wrong reasons.
