Senator James Inhofe (R-OK) talked about the impact of Washington politics on Cushing, Oklahoma, and the U.S. oil industry. Topics included the Keystone XL pipeline and Obama administration energy policy.

At the conclusion of the program a portion of a September 24, 2013 interview with James Prescott, project manager at TransCanada, was shown. He talked about environmental concerns related to his company’s Keystone XL pipeline, and the number of jobs the pipeline might create.

Each segment of the November 6, 2013, “Washington Journal” was about the oil industry, focusing on Cushing, Oklahoma. Cushing is sometimes referred to as the “capital of the American oil kingdom.” The community contains the biggest bank vault of U.S. oil in the country, with more than 80 million barrels of oil storage capacity, according to Bloomberg Businessweek. close
