Leaders of the Democratic and Republican Parties in Mississippi talked about how the South has changed politically since the Civil Rights movement. Following panel members' individual comments' on their experiences in Mississippi in 1964, they responded to audience members' questions. 

This discussion, titled “Mississippi Freedom Democrats' Challenge of the 1964 Convention,” was the second panel of the symposium, “How Events in Mississippi Changed American Politics.”
