Authors talked about their books about the immigrant experience. They responded to questions from members of the audience.

Carlos Erie is the author of Learning to Die in Miami: Confessions of a Refugee Boy (Free Press). It is a continuation of his memoir about being a poor and without parents in a strange land.

Edwidge Danticat is the author of Create Dangerously: The Immigrant Artist at Work (Princeton University Press).

Ngugi Wa Thiong’o, African author and activist, is the author of Dreams in a Time of War: A Childhood Memoir (Pantheon).
