Panelists talked about the children of immigrants in the U.S., focusing on the status of Mexican and Muslim children. Among the issues they addressed were integration into American society, political polarization over the issue of immigration, and the impact of immigration on the economy. They also responded to questions from the audience.

Children of immigrants constitute one of the fastest growing segments of the U.S. population. Numbering 8.3 million in 1990, they now total about 16.5 million and account for three quarters of the growth of America’s child population since 1990. close
