Policy analysts, journalists, and academicians spoke in a forum on the relationship between Congress and the public, with a focus on the media’s role in developing the public’s image of how Congress functions. Issues raised in the discussion included the public’s changing view of Congress in the electronic age and the public’s image of their own representatives in Congress. The panel offered solutions to the institutional functioning of Congress over the growing public dissatisfaction rate with the legislative branch. The forum is a collaboration between two Washington D.C. based think tanks, The Brookings Institute and the American Enterprise Institute. close
