Coinciding with the dedication of the National World War II Memorial, the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage held a four-day “Tribute to a Generation: National World War II Reunion” on the National Mall. In this session, actor and Army Air Corps veteran Jack Palance talked about World War II veterans as film performers, focusing on his own experiences. He also addressed the impact of the film industry on the war and vice versa. Mr. Doherty moderated the discussion. Mr. Palance responded to questions from the moderator and the audience. Near the conclusion of this event, Mr. Palance introduced his wife, who then made brief remarks.
