FBI Director Robert Mueller spoke about efforts to reform the intelligence community and the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s role in the war on terror. He spoke about the nature of the threat of terrorism and the changing duty of law enforcement agencies. He noted that new technologies have made crime and law enforcement international concerns. He asserted the connection between organized criminal activities and terrorism. He spoke about internal FBI efforts to recruit new intelligence analysts and linguists, improve surveillance, and develop better interagency relations. Following his remarks, Mr. Mueller responded to questions from members of the audience. close
