The United Nations Information Centre hosted a forum on the impact of AIDS on women and children in Africa. The program was introduced by Dawn Calabia, Deputy Director of the U.N. Information Centre, U.N. Foundation Vice President, Phyllis Cuttino and the Women’s Foreign Policy Groups' Patricia Ellis. Presenters included: National Public Radio Senior Correspondent Brenda Wilson, Dr. Desmond Johns, Director of the New York UNAIDS Office, Dr. Naisiadet Mason, the International Programs Director for the National Association of People Living With A.I.D.S, Jendayi Frazer, Senior Director for Africa with the National Security Council, and Stphanie Urdang, U.N.I.F.E.M Advisor on Gender & HIV/Aids. The Minister Counselor from the Embassy of Uganda, Ahmed Ssenyomo also gave remarks at the event. close
