A panel discussion was held on the death of Huey Long. The moderator was Michael Wynne, co-author of the play Who Killed the Kingfish.

“The 75th Anniversary Panel: Assassination or Accidental Shooting?” was the closing panel of the day-long symposium on the legacy of Huey Long held August 28, 2010, by Louisiana Secretary of State Jay Dardenne and the Foundation for Historical Louisiana in the Old State Capitol.

Huey Long was the 40th governor of Louisiana, from 1928 to 1932, and was a United States senator from Louisiana, from 1932 to 1935. He was a powerful and controversial figure in Louisiana politics who was shot September 8, 1935. close
