A hearing was held to examine how the nation provides housing for disaster victims. The challenges faced by federal, state, and local governments in their efforts to house the victims of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita were reviewed, the safety and effectiveness of current emergency housing programs were assessed, and plans for future disasters were examined.
