In his daily news conference, Speaker Gingrich reviewed the House schedule and said that passage of the revision of the Exclusionary Rule is a major gain in anti-crime legislation. Responding to a remark earlier today by House Minority Leader Gephardt earlier that the Republican welfare goal is too limited, the speaker said he would welcome Mr. Gephardt’s plan to put 100 percent of welfare recipients back to work. Following prepared remarks, he took questions from the press.
