The U.S. House of Representatives met and and continued debate on H.R. 4579. The bill sought to provide tax relief for individuals, families, and farming and other small businesses, to provide tax incentives for education, and to extend certain expiring provisions. Much of the debate on the measure focused on maintaining the sustainability of Social Security benefits which the tax cuts could effect. Following the passage of H.R. 4579 and at the completion of the day’s business, the House stood adjourned at 12:38pm that afternoon. close
