Mr. Card talked about a variety of subjects including President Bush, the oath of office, and freedom. He talked about the shock to the U.S. economy caused by the September 11 attacks, and about the upturn in jobs and production since, saying the outlook for business in 2005 is good. He also talked about President Bush’s Social Security reform proposals, tort reform, the federal budget deficit and other topics. After his presentation Mr. Card answered audience members' questions.
