Professor Robert Toplin, who is the film review editor for the Journal of American History spoke about his new book, History by Hollywood: The Use and Abuse of the American Past. He examined how movies such as Missippi Burning, JFK, and All the President’s Men have portrayed, and distorted, the historical events which comprise their plots. After his remarks, he took questions from the audience. close
