Panelists discussed the role of Hispanic culture in U.S. culture. Mr. Gracia spoke about the contributions of Hispanic philosophers and Ms. Martinez spoke about the origins of the U.S. and the problems with the term “Hispanic.” They examined the role of Hispanic philosophers, the Hispanic role in forming a national identity and the unique experiences of Hispanics in world history. Presentations were given by Philosophy Professor at SUNY-Buffalo Jorge Gracia and Civil Rights Activist and Author Elizabeth Martinez. close
