The House Judiciary Committee held a hearing on the investigation into the firing of the U.S. Attorneys in 2006. Glenn Fine, the Department of Justice Inspector General, in his testimony summarized the findings of a report conducted by his office. Findings of the report included that the process used to remove attorneys was flawed, there are gaps in the investigation because of the refusal of key witnesses to testify, and the evidence used in the report does not establish a violation. As a result of the gaps in testimony, Mr. Fine said the evidence was incomplete and recommended further investigation. close
