House Natural Resources Committee Ranking Member Ed Markey announced legislation for the Obama administration to deploy 5 percent of the strategic petroleum reserves in response to rising gas prices. He was joined by the bill’s Democratic co-sponsors, Representatives Rosa DeLauro, Lois Capps, and Bill Owens. They also commented on the Republican’s plans on energy legislation, calling it an “oil above all strategy.”
