Major General Antonio Taguba (Ret.) delivered the keynote address of a program commemorating the military service of Asian Pacific Americans.

Then Assistant Director L. Tammy Duckworth gave greetings from the Department of Veterans Affairs, introduced by Mr. Robert Patrick.

This was the concluding portion of the opening ceremonies for the program, “Unsung Heroes: Asian Pacific American Heroism during World War II.” The Veterans History Project of the American Folklife Center and the Library of Congress Asian Division Friends Society held this event in the Kluge Room of the Thomas Jefferson Building of the Library of Congress on Monday, October 26, 2009. close
