Panelists discussed the Help America Vote Act. Representatives of the U.S. Election Assistance Commission talked about their mandate to improve the “effective administration of Federal elections.” They discussed steps taken since the law’s passage in 2002, and strategies for further improvements. Other witnesses discussed efforts to ensure fair and credible elections, as well as attempts to limit the possibility of election fraud.
