The Democratic National Committee held its third hearing on their party’s 2004 national platform at the Indian School in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The previous hearing had been cancelled due to the death of President Reagan and some of those topics were included. The committee focused on the U.S. economy, specifically small businesses, jobs and taxes. They also discussed health care and education. 

The first panel discussed jobs, manufacturing, and trade policy. The second panel discussed small businesses, focusing on the costs of healthcare coverage. Then there were discussions of agriculture policy.
