Federal research agency directors and private sector leaders discussed science and health issues of the 21st century. Topics included current medical research, the role of the federal government, obesity rates, longer life spans, international education, and the growth of health care expenditures. After their presentations they answered audience members' questions. Mr. Gergen served as moderator.
