Dr. Charles Stevens, Howard Hughes Medical Institute Professor and Investigator, and others released a report on the possible health effects of exposure to electromagnetic fields through living in close proximity to power lines. The report concluded that there is no evidence for deleterious effects, such as cancer, neurological, or reproductive problems, from exposure to electromagnetic fields. The report is based on epidemiological, animal and cellular evidence in over 500 studies over the past 15 years. Other participants were David Savitz, University of North Carolina Epidemiology Department, and Bruce Kelman, Golder Associates National Director of Health and Environmental Sciences.
