David Satcher and Rubens Pamis talked about their book Multicultural Medicine and Health Disparities, published by McGraw-Hill Professional. In the book they argue that racial differences lead to inequality in health care. They used statistical data and charts to prove that there are multicultural disparities in access to health care, immunization histories, disease prevalence, and attitudes about health and provision of care. The authors concluded by outlining specific objectives for students and practitioners in narrowing multicultural disparities in health care. After their presentation they answered audience members' questions. close
